Leaders can’t give what they don’t have: Creating a “safe system of work” for leaders

With WHS regulators increasing their focus on psychosocial risk, it is important for firms to consider the “safe system of work” they have in place for their leaders, and the benefits this focus will have on culture and enterprise-wide leadership impact. Leader wellbeing and sustainability is a fundamental dependency in achieving organisational outcomes, yet the trends in leadership wellbeing are concerning.

This session will challenges existing thinking and reinforce the need for investment not only in leader wellbeing, but in better understanding the leadership system drivers that contribute to leader wellbeing outcomes.

Evolving performance management in professional firms – survey insights and sector trends

In this presentation, Ray D'Cruz shared the results of a recent survey of 170 firms conducted by Performance Leader on how firms are evolving their performance management and feedback practices. Research topics include feedback frequency, the effectiveness of performance management practices, the use of ratings, links between performance management and talent decisions such as compensation, bonuses, and promotions, the use of technology and AI, the impact of hybrid working on feedback culture, and emerging change priorities. Few would disagree that a strong performance and feedback culture challenges, rewards people, engages and retains people. This session will provide a compelling snapshot of what firms are doing in this field.
